Tragedy.
One of my New Year’s resolutions is to draw something every day, even if it’s just a little doodle. I found one of those 365 day drawing “challenges” list things but I may not stick to it strictly. The first challenge is to draw a tragedy and I’ve always found the etymology of the platypus’s name to be kind of tragic:

Origin: 1790–1800;  < Neo-Latin  < Greek  platýpous  flat-footed,equivalent to platy-  platy-  + -pous,  adj. derivative of poús  foot


I’m super excited about this. Like animals-on-napkins excited. [Here’s day 2.]
